Vijayalakshmi Yeedi (born June 5, 1976), known as Rambha, is an Indian film actress. Throughout his career, Rambha acted in many Indian films and worked in seven regional languages, while appearing alongside most of the major actors in India.
Rambha was born as Vijayalakshmi in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, on June 5, 1976 in a Telugu-speaking family. He studied at Atkinson High School, Vijayawada. While studying in his seventh standard, he acted as Amman for his school’s Annual Day competition. The event was attended by director Hariharan, who kept in touch and then presented her as the female protagonist in Malayalam’s movie, Sargam. His first screen name was Amrutha, which later changed as Rambha after the character’s name in his Telugu debut film Aa Okkati Adakku.

Rambha dropped out of education at age 15 and then began his career with Hariharan’s Malayalam movie, Sargam (1992), alongside Vineeth. The film performed well at the box office, although it was seen by director E. V. V. Satyanarayana, who later chose it in the Telugu film Aa Okkati Adakku (1992), where it was paired alongside Rajendra Prasad.
The film worked well and provoked several film offers for the actress from several different film industries across India. During the height of his career in the late 1990s, Rambha deliberately continued to choose glamorous roles to get movie deals. In successful films like Hitler (1997) starring Chiranjeevi, Rambha appeared in roles that were inconsequential for the plot and purely represented as the main actor’s love interest.

She began her career as a producer with the help of her brother in Three Roses (2003), in which Jyothika, Laila and Rambha played the main characters. However, the movie failed at the box office and she became indebted long after the movie was released. He sold his house on Mount Road, Chennai to pay off the debt, while he was also hired in a case of return of checks presented by the film’s financiers.
Rambha has performed in several languages and has always maintained a successful balance in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, Bhojpuri and Bengali. His last film in Malayalam entitled Paayum Puli in 2007 got good reviews and, despite being in his mid-30s, he made one of his most glamorous roles for this film. Most of his films are successful. In 2010, Rambha filmed with Prakash Raj for a thriller entitled Vidiyum Varai Kathiru. The film was filmed in three languages, namely Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam, but the film did not have a theatrical premiere.

Rambha married Indrakumar Pathmanathan, a Canadian-based businessman, Since then, the two settled in North York, Toronto. They have two daughters. Separated for some time, Rambha moved to court for legal custody of her children in 2016.
